Do you want to do something good and help others? - Then you are in the right place!
We are the Community Outreach Committee, and we are reaching out to help the society around us in all ways possible. As students, we are trying to stay aware of global issues and conflicts in our fast changing world, and we strive to help and support those who find themselves struggling.
So what exactly do we do? We organize lectures and movie screenings on various global and local topics that we find important and interesting, especially in regard to International Studies. We collaborate with organizations such as Unicef, Greenpeace, the Red Cross and other student organizations and together we organize events to help those in need. We regularly hold bake sales and wheel of fortune events of which the profit goes to a charity of our choice. We have already donated to various charities that each support different small-scale cases – ranging from refugee crises, renewable energy in Senegal, HIV orphans and child soldiers in Uganda, single unemployed mothers in Zimbabwe and many others.
We are also open to any new ideas that could broaden our agenda or that would be interesting and fun to organize. Are you interested in similar topics? Do you care about the environment, refugees and human rights? Do you have your own ideas on how to help? Then don’t hesitate and contact us to get to know more! But also if you don’t have any ideas yet and you just want to help or see what we are doing, you are more than welcome to contact us. Just write us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or join our Facebook Group! Our board is also always happy to answer any questions.
